Raphaël Elie leads youth results in Alençon
Playing as the second seed in the minimes excellence singles draw, Raphaël Elie won all of his matches to claim first place in his division. Three other players from the club competed at the regional opener: Théo Guillotin finished third in the honneur division, alongside teammates David Marici and Faustine Le Jeanne.
Regional competition also brought a fresh adjustment to scoring rules. The sport returned to sets played to the best of 15 points, featuring an interval at 8 points and a requirement for a two-point margin in the event of a tie.
Adult interclubs launch under new division formats
Adult competition followed with the opening day of the Orne interclubs championship, yielding one victory and two losses for the club’s squads across divisions. Competing in Division 1 as newly promoted sides, the Aiglons adjusted to a revised match format mirroring the regional championship. Division 1 fixtures now feature eight matches instead of seven, shifting from three men’s singles to two, and expanding from one women’s singles to two. The lineup maintains one women’s doubles and one men’s doubles, while adding a second mixed doubles match.
To meet the requirement of fielding three female players instead of two, the squad integrated new faces following the departure of Enola Courtemanche. Marie Bettend returned to the team, and veteran Gaëlle Bosnay joined the roster.
Division 1 victory opens senior campaign
The top-flight team secured a 5–3 win against Saint-Georges-des-Groseillers to start their season. Guillaume Castel and Luc Perrona each won their respective singles matches. In doubles play, pairs Cécile Rio and Gaëlle Bosnay, alongside Luc Perrona and Benjamin Robet, claimed victories. Despite competitive matches, the squad lost all four singles encounters through Yves Marinier, Alexandre Masurier, Quentin Laurent-Poilly, and Annaelle Millet, alongside the women’s doubles pairing of Annaelle Millet and Estrelia Ribier and the mixed doubles pairing of Estrelia Ribier and Quentin Laurent-Poilly. A single point was salvaged by the men’s doubles pair of Yves Marinier and Alexandre Masurier, preventing their opponents from claiming a bonus point.
Meanwhile, the men’s interclubs team fell 4–2 to Alençon. Luis Delarue and Lucas Vallée won their singles matches in three sets.
