Ninety-four teams filled the courts for the 12th annual “Bad pour elles” badminton tournament in La Clayette, a community sporting event held as part of the national Pink October campaign for breast cancer awareness. The event brought together 84 adult squads and 10 children’s teams, drawing crowds of spectators to watch the competition and support local fundraising efforts.
Local Groups Organize Festive Volleyball Events
The Amicale des écoles publiques and Volley Bad de La Clayette organized the day’s events, combining competitive play with a festive atmosphere. Visitors packed the venue to cheer on participants across multiple brackets.
Youth and Adult Match Results
In the youth tournament—open to players aged 8 to 14—matches featured close scores and tight rallies driven by competitive spirit and sportsmanship. Léane and Joana Burtin secured first place in the youth bracket. Jules Collaudin and Jules Lacoque finished second, followed by Timéo Colin and Éden Collaudin in third, and Elian Mollon and Martin Lathuilière in fourth place. In the senior division, Robert and Josselin Boson claimed the adult tournament title after beating a field of 84 competing pairs.
Milestone Donations for Breast Cancer Research
Tournament president Stéphanie Martinot highlighted the dual purpose of the gathering, emphasizing community solidarity alongside the sporting competition. “It was another beautiful evening of solidarity, sport, and conviviality,” Martinot said. She noted that proceeds from the event support women fighting breast cancer through the Europa Donna association. With the completion of this 13th edition of the broader fundraising initiative, organizers anticipate surpassing €40,000 in total donations accumulated over 12 years.
Café Donna Launch Meeting
Before the badminton matches began, participants and community members gathered at a local restaurant for the inaugural “Café Donna” meeting. The afternoon session provided a dedicated space for conversation and information-sharing regarding breast cancer awareness. Organizers designed the initial gathering to lay the groundwork for establishing a permanent Café Donna chapter in La Clayette.
