Azkoitia-Azpeitia Half Marathon opens registration for 1,800 runners

Registrations for the 34th Azkoitia-Azpeitia International Half Marathon and the 15th Short Race open this Sunday, November 1, via the RockTheSport platform, diariovasco.com reported. Organizers have set a total limit of 1,800 entries for the event, which honors the late runner Diego García under the chosen motto ‘Korrikalari sena!/ ¡Instinto corredor!’

Race Capacities and Pricing Structure

The field is split between 1,200 available slots for the half marathon and 600 spots for the shorter 8-kilometer race. Entry fees start at 25 euros for the longer distance and 18 euros for the short race, operating on a tiered pricing model that adjusts based on total registration numbers.

Athletes holding an official athletics federation license receive a three-euro discount on the half marathon registration, reflecting insurance coverage included through their federation status. Returning runners who completed the 2026 edition qualify for an additional two-euro reduction on either distance, provided they complete their registration before December 31.

Official Apparel and Commemorative Items

Otso Sport joins the event for 2027 as the official athletic apparel partner. Participants can select between two different jersey designs during sign-up. Runners also have the option to purchase a second shirt for 15 euros and a commemorative Diego headband for five euros, provided those additions are secured during registration prior to the December 31 cutoff.

Event Schedule and Deadlines

Both races are scheduled to take place on March 20, 2027. The opening of the RockTheSport portal on November 1 marks the official start of the registration window, with multiple tiered deadlines applying to promotional discounts and merchandise orders through the end of the year.
