Arqueros del VIRCh organized a weekend of 3D archery competition in the bardas of the Mar y Valle racetrack in Trelew, featuring the final official homologation event before the national finals, as reported by Diario Jornada.
More than 30 athletes from cities including Salta, Bahía Blanca, General Conesa, Esquel, Puerto Madryn, and Comodoro Rivadavia gathered for the back-to-back tournaments. The schedule featured the fifth round of the Patagonian Zone 3D Honor League on Saturday, October 3, followed by the official FATArco 3D Homologation Tournament on Sunday, October 4.
Patagonian Circuit Action at the Mar y Valle Racetrack
The rugged bardas surrounding the Mar y Valle racetrack in Trelew provided an authentic outdoor setting for the two-day shooting schedule.
Medals were awarded at the conclusion of each day’s competition to the top three finishers across every category. Beyond the competitive rounds, the event served a social function for the sport in southern Argentina, with visiting and local clubs gathering Saturday night for a traditional dinner centered on community and camaraderie.
Chubut Presence on the International Stage
The regional gathering in Trelew coincided with an active period for Chubut’s archery community on the global stage. Six athletes from the province represented Argentina at the World 3D Championship in the United States, including two competitors from Puerto Madryn, two from Comodoro Rivadavia, and two from Trevelin.
That international participation highlights the steady competitive growth of 3D archery throughout the Patagonian circuit.
Logistical Support and Official Oversight
FATArco judges Darío Bassi and Horacio Gudiño oversaw technical compliance and tournament supervision throughout both dates.
Local security and crowd management were provided by the Trelew Urban Guard, ensuring smooth operations across the racetrack grounds. Meanwhile, the club’s kitchen and logistics crew managed catering for competitors and staff, and the Mar y Valle racetrack administration granted access to the natural circuit terrain.
