All-Japan Judo Federation Releases 2026 Kodokan Cup Brackets

Chiba Prefecture Venue Set for 2026 Kodokan Cup

The All Japan Judo Federation released the official tournament brackets for the 2026 Kodokan Cup All-Japan Weight Class Judo Championships, scheduled for November 7 and November 8, 2026. Competition will take place at Chiba Gin Arena, also known as Chiba Port Arena, located in Chiba City, Japan.

Top-tier competitors from high schools, universities, corporate teams, and police forces will face seeded athletes across multiple weight divisions. The tournament serves as a direct qualifier for the upcoming Grand Slam Tokyo 2026, scheduled for December 5 and December 6 at Tokyo Metropolitan Gymnasium, while also determining national team selections for the latter half of the 2026 season.

Competition Schedule and Weight Divisions

Action gets underway at 9:00 AM local time on both days, with competition slated to wrap up by 5:00 PM. Saturday, November 7, features seven women’s weight classes ranging from the 48kg division up to the 78kg-plus heavyweight category. Sunday, November 8, shifts to the men’s side, spanning seven divisions from 60kg up to the 100kg-plus category.

Tournament organizers noted that certain opening-round matches will utilize split mats. On Saturday, the opening matches for the women’s 57kg and 70kg divisions will be split across multiple tatami areas. On Sunday, the men’s 81kg division will follow the same split-mat format for the first round.

Broadcast and Ticket Information

Spectators planning to attend in person can purchase tickets through general ticketing platforms. Advance ticket purchases are available via Ticket Pia, with physical point-of-sale options at Seven-Eleven convenience stores, and through eplus, utilizing multi-copy terminals at FamilyMart locations. Organizers noted that if advance ticket sales exhaust the allocated inventory, no tickets will be sold at the venue on competition days.

For fans watching from home, the All Japan Judo Federation will provide live streaming of every match across both days on its official Zenjuren TV platform. Additionally, BS11 will broadcast taped tournament coverage on Sunday, November 8, from 7:00 PM to 8:55 PM local time, with subsequent on-demand streaming scheduled on TVer following the broadcast.
