From Werder Bremen Youth Academy to Executive Success
Krösche built his foundation in German football as a defensive midfielder, starting his career in the youth ranks of Werder Bremen before spending the defining years of his playing days as a symbol of SC Paderborn. After hanging up his boots, he immediately transitioned into coaching. He took charge of Paderborn’s second team in his retirement year before joining his former teammate and manager Roger Schmidt at Bayer Leverkusen as an assistant coach. That stint ended in March 2017 when Leverkusen dismissed the coaching staff after less than two seasons.
Rebuilding Paderborn and Scaling the Bundesliga with RB Leipzig
Following his departure from Leverkusen, Krösche returned to Paderborn in a managerial capacity as sporting director, marking the start of his third major phase in football. He orchestrated an immediate resurgence, guiding Paderborn from the third division all the way back to the Bundesliga. That achievement caught the attention of RB Leipzig, which hired him in 2019 to succeed Ralf Rangnick. During his tenure at Leipzig, he helped construct a squad that reached the UEFA Champions League semifinals in 2021, though he ultimately resigned with one year remaining on his contract.

European Glory and Talent Trading at Eintracht Frankfurt
Krösche moved to Eintracht Frankfurt in 2021, establishing a four-year track record defined by both silverware and profitable player trading. Under his sporting direction, Eintracht Frankfurt captured the UEFA Europa League title in 2022 and climbed to a third-place finish in the Bundesliga by 2025.
