2026 Wuhan Open organizers announce traffic and transit plans

The 2026 Dongfeng Voyah Wuhan Open is scheduled to take place from October 10 to October 18 at the Optics Valley International Tennis Center, tournament organizers announced. Public transit adjustments, dedicated shuttle routes, and parking restrictions will govern crowd movement for the tournament, according to local officials.

Tournament Schedule at Optics Valley International Tennis Center

The nine-day tournament runs from October 10 through October 18, 2026. All main tournament matches take place at the Optics Valley International Tennis Center.

Traffic Restrictions Affect Roads Around Optics Valley Tennis Center

Organizers have implemented temporary traffic restrictions around the Optics Valley International Tennis Center to manage spectator and vehicle movement during the event. From October 10 to October 18, parking is prohibited around the clock on Gaoxin 2nd Road between Huanglongshan North Road and Fuzuling 1st Road, as well as on Fuzuling 1st Road between Gaoxin 2nd Road and Liufangyuan Cross Road.

Heavy trucks and vehicles carrying hazardous chemicals face all-day bans on Fuzuling 1st Road (from Gaoxin 2nd Road to Liufangyuan Cross Road) and Gaoxin 2nd Road (from Guanggu 1st Road to Guanggu 3rd Road) throughout the tournament dates. In addition, Fuzuling 1st Road between Gaoxin 2nd Road and Gaoxin 3rd Road will be closed to all motor vehicles from October 10 to October 16 between 9:00 a.m. and the end of play each day. Similar vehicle bans on that stretch take effect on October 17 at 2:00 p.m. and October 18 at 3:00 p.m., lasting until matches conclude.

Public Transit and Shuttles Serve the Tournament Venue

Spectators are encouraged to use public transportation and tournament-designated shuttles to reach the venue. Wuhan Metro Line 2 serves the area via Huanglongshan Road Station (Exit B), where passengers can transfer to Bus Route 333 to reach the “Gaoxin 2nd Road Optics Valley International Tennis Center” stop or board the official Wuhan Open shuttle. Tram Line L2 also stops at the International Tennis Center station, requiring an 800-meter walk to the venue gates. Regular bus routes 333 and 756 stop directly at the venue.

Three specialized transport options operate during the tournament. The Wuhan Open Evacuation Express starts operating nightly at 23:00 p.m. after matches end, with departures timed to match the evening's final point. Evacuation routes connect the venue directly to Optics Valley Square Metro Station, Wuchang Railway Station, Wangjiadun East Metro Station, and Xudong Metro Station from the BRT platform on the outlet side. Finally, the Wuhan Open ACE Loop runs daily from 9:00 a.m. to 12:00 p.m., 17:00 p.m. to 20:00 p.m., and 21:00 p.m. to 23:00 p.m., circulating between the venue's North 2 Gate, East Gate, the Olympic Sports Complex Comprehensive Gymnasium parking lot, and the underground parking structure.
