During the meeting in Japan, Yemeni sports officials focused on building institutional pathways with the Korea Archery Association. Al-Ahjouri sat down with Korea Archery Association Vice-President Jang Young-sul and Secretary-General Choi Kyeong-hwan, commonly known as Kai, to map out future collaboration.

The discussions centered on mutual cooperation and the structured exchange of expertise within the sport of archery. Both governing bodies expressed a shared interest in strengthening joint initiatives, emphasizing that maintaining open lines of communication is vital for development. The talks specifically targeted support systems for athletes and coaches.

Yemeni Olympic Strategy on the International Stage

For the Yemeni Olympic Committee, the high-level talks form part of a broader strategy to expand its international network of relationships. Leadership aims to establish cooperative bridges with national sports institutions across various countries, seeking access to specialized expertise designed to elevate athletic standards across multiple disciplines inside Yemen.

Abdul-Salam Atef, a board member of the Yemeni Olympic Committee and president of the General Federation of Archery, participated directly in the discussions alongside Al-Ahjouri. Their presence emphasizes an administrative push to secure technical guidance in sports disciplines.

On-Site Delegation Presence in Japan

The administrative meetings took place against the backdrop of the ongoing Aichi-Nagoya 2026 Asian Games archery competitions. Jamal Al-Jabali, who serves as the administrator for the Yemeni sports delegation currently competing in Japan, also attended the session to coordinate logistical and administrative alignment with the visiting executives.
