The 19-year-old football player, who graduated from Cross High School before enrolling at USC in the summer of 2026, was booked into the Berkeley County Jail just after 4 a.m., according to jail records cited by Live 5 News.

Ramsey appeared for a bond hearing on Monday evening where a judge issued a personal recognizance bond set at $1087.50, according to reporting from ABC News 4. Ramsey’s lawyer urged in a letter submitted during the proceedings that the young athlete is not a flight risk and is a good kid.
While an official incident report remained in the approval process with local law enforcement, the university administration addressed the development publicly on Monday afternoon. School officials issued a brief statement regarding the freshman player.

In 2025, he led the Cross High Trojans to an 11-2 record, steering the program to an appearance in the state Class A Lower State championship game. His high school achievements included selection to play in the Shrine Bowl of the Carolinas alongside a Class A all-state team nod from the South Carolina Football Coaches Association. Beyond the gridiron, Ramsey also excelled as a basketball player at Cross, earning multiple All-Friday Night Lights and all-star selections from regional sports broadcasters before beginning his freshman semester at USC.
