Tebow announced the temporary split on Friday in Gainesville, Florida, stating his team will launch an internal review into the allegations.
The decision comes just a day after journalist Pablo Torre reported on his podcast that the former NFL quarterback had served as a prominent headliner for dozens of Life Surge events, earning between $50,000 and $100,000 per engagement. Life Surge hosts events nationwide annually, blending Christian worship and motivational speaking with financial seminars focused on real estate and the stock market.
Speaking to reporters while in town for ESPN’s SEC Nation ahead of a matchup between Florida and Ole Miss, Tebow addressed the controversy directly. He characterized the claims as severe enough to warrant an immediate step back from the organization.
“The allegations are extremely, extremely serious, and it’s something that we take very serious. So, for us, we’re having our team do an investigation, but also pausing our relationship ’til we can learn more about the facts to be able to understand more.”

The reporting alleged that seminar staff encouraged attendees to use their personal finances to cover the steep five-figure price tags. Suggestions included opening credit cards with temporary 0% interest rates through on-site third-party brokers, tapping home-equity lines of credit, and drawing from retirement accounts.
Life Surge representatives have strongly disputed those characterizations.

“Honestly, I was at an anti-human trafficking conference yesterday, and the team shared with me when we were leaving as we were flying to Alabama for an event. And kind of caught off guard with some of it, and I think that’s why we’re trying to understand more of the facts to really learn it.”
The former Heisman winner defended his personal motivations for appearing at the events, emphasizing that his primary goal was sharing his faith. Before stepping away, Tebow was slated to appear as a headliner at more than 20 events scheduled through the remainder of 2026, including an upcoming appearance in October in Charlotte, North Carolina.
