Team Suriname is finalized and preparing for competition at the 13th edition of the South American Games, scheduled to run from September 12 through September 26, 2026, across Argentina. According to the Surinaams Olympisch Comité (SOC), the delegation comprises fourteen athletes competing across seven distinct sports disciplines in the host cities of Santa Fe, Rosario, and Rafaela.
Delegation Structure and Sport Disciplines
The Surinaamse delegatie features athletes spanning track and field, badminton, boxing, taekwondo, tennis, cycling, and swimming. Each discipline operates under the guidance of assigned coaching staff, while the overall mission falls under the leadership of chef de mission Desiré Eendragt.
Track and field competitors D’Angelo Huisden and Domiguel Werson will travel under coach Deon Boldewijn. In badminton, Rivano Bisphan and Imani Mangroe represent the country with coach Gilmar Jones. The boxing squad features Domelzo Schet, guided by coach Maurice Douglas. Taekwondo athletes Yade Bongsomenggolo and Samero Doebe prepare under coach Jurmen Amiena, while the tennis contingent of Yigal Bergen and Joshio Loor trains alongside coach Carolina Vera Vera. Cycling competitor Xavi Wadilie enters the events with coach Christopher Gill, and swimmers Ismael Holtuin and Zayn Etnel complete the roster under coach Fabianne Nabibaks.
SOC Leadership and Preparatory Teach-In
SOC president Ramon Tjon-A-Fat will attend the multi-sport event in Argentina to support the national delegation. In the final weeks ahead of the international competition, the SOC scheduled an informational teach-in for Friday, September 4, 2026, at the Olympic House in Suriname.

During the Friday session, participating athletes, coaches, and staff received essential guidelines, logistical details, and practical briefings regarding travel and competition rules in Argentina. The Olympic Committee expressed confidence that Team Suriname is fully prepared to represent the nation and deliver strong performances across all seven sports.
