Le Racing Club de Strasbourg Alsace has announced a major ownership restructuring, with the club’s current majority shareholders acquiring Todd Boehly’s stake in the outfit. According to official club communications, Hansjörg Wyss will maintain a significant presence within the shareholder group as a stakeholder and partner. As part of the transition, the majority shareholders are also purchasing Mark Walter’s stake, securing full capital control of the club.

The ownership shift marks a new chapter for the Alsatian side following their initial acquisition of the club in 2023. Over the past three years, the investment group worked closely with club leadership to inject capital into both the men’s and women’s teams. These funds targeted youth development, enhanced pathways from the academy to the senior squad, recruitment networks, and overall sporting infrastructure. Club president Marc Keller noted that the ownership shift alters neither the overarching strategy nor the daily operations of the institution.

Athletic Progress and European Ambitions
The restructuring arrives on the back of notable sporting progression for Strasbourg across domestic and continental competitions. Last season, the men’s team engineered a historic European campaign by reaching the semi-finals of the UEFA Conference League, while continuing to establish itself among the rising forces in French football. Concurrently, the women’s section achieved a major milestone two seasons ago by earning promotion to the Arkema Première Ligue for the first time in club history, followed by a seventh-place finish in the top flight last term.
Modernization of Stade de la Meinau
Off the pitch, the club’s long-term project has heavily prioritized infrastructure, headlined by the transformation of the historic Stade de la Meinau. Executed in close cooperation with local public authorities, the renovation expanded the stadium’s capacity to approximately 32,000 seats. The construction modernized facilities while deliberately preserving the unique identity, atmosphere, and geographical location that define the venue for local supporters.
The ownership group intends to maintain its current strategic trajectory, aiming to solidify Strasbourg’s competitiveness on both French and European stages while honoring its deep ties to the Alsace region.
