The fatal incident occurred during the fourth round of the GTI Trophy season, a championship where Amorós held fifth place in the standings prior to the race weekend. According to reports from the Real Federación Española de Automovilismo, the governing body issued a public statement expressing deep sadness over the loss and offering condolences to his family and loved ones.

Additional tributes arrived from the organization of the GTI Trophy and the Circuito de Madrid Jarama – RACE, which also expressed public sorrow over the event. The accident occurred on the circuit located in the province of Huelva in southwestern Spain.

Racing Career and Professional Background

Outside of his motorsport pursuits, Amorós worked as a lawyer and served as the managing partner of the firm ILEX Tax & Legal. Within racing, he built a versatile career spanning circuits, rallies, and off-road events.

His early national competition history included appearances in the Copa Hyundai, the Mini Challenge—where he finished fifth overall in 2011 with 166 points—and the Copa Kobe Motor. In subsequent years, he transitioned to off-road disciplines, securing the Spanish All-Terrain Rally Championship in the Open category in 2022 while driving a Dacia Duster alongside his team.

Return to the GTI Trophy

Earlier this year, Amorós returned to circuit racing by joining the GTI Trophy, a championship established in 2025 specifically reserved for fourth-generation Volkswagen Golf GTI race cars. His firm announced the sporting project in April, noting his experience in national off-road competition before his comeback to tarmac circuits at the Circuito del Jarama in April.
