The XXVIII Campeonato de España de Recorridos de Caza con Arco concluded on Saturday in Colunga, Asturias, with archers from different autonomous communities competing across three modalities—Arco Asistido, Arco Tradicional, and Long Bow. The event, organized by the Real Federación Española de Caza (RFEC), crowned national champions in senior, veteran, cadet, and junior categories, marking a significant gathering for Spain’s archery community.
Champions Crowned in Three Archery Modalities
The competition featured 78 athletes, with José Andrés Lobo Fernández securing the Arco Asistido Sénior Masculino title with 279 points. Antonio Cea Merelas (260) and Eloy Álvarez Couñago (249) followed. In Sénior Femenino, María Álvarez Collada led with 222 points, ahead of Dolores Bugarín Codeseda (202) and Gemma Marzano Vil (160).
veterano category saw José Luis Linares González triumph with 255 points, while Mario Rodríguez García won Cadetes with 156. In Arco Tradicional, Pelayo Suárez López claimed senior men’s gold with 139, narrowly edging Mikel Aranzabal Itoiz (136). Eva María Moreno Ortega topped Sénior Femenino with 79 points, and Juan José Jiménez Orta won Veteranos with 122.
Long Bow Categories Highlight Regional Talent
The Long Bow event produced standout performances, including Jacobo Santoro Lorenzo’s 140 points in Sénior Masculino. Manuel Jesús González Zambrano secured Veteranos victory with 59, while Alfonso García Velacoracho claimed Cadete gold with 58. Beatriz García Velacoracho finished second in the same category with 49.
Colunga Becomes Archery Hub for National Talent
Colunga’s Club de Tiro con Arco Los Valles hosted the event, drawing competitors from across Spain. Over 70 archers participated, reflecting the sport’s growing popularity in regional federations.
