Persija Jakarta secured a 1-0 victory against Java United at the Kapten I Wayan Dipta Stadium in Bali on September 19, 2026, extending their winning run at the start of the Super League season to three matches. Arlyansyah Abdulmanan scored the game’s lone goal in the 13th minute, keeping the club near the top of the standings with nine points.
The fixture took place outside of Java due to a home ban imposed by the PSSI Disciplinary Committee. The penalty followed infractions during Persija’s match against Persib Bandung at Gelora Bung Karno Stadium in Jakarta on September 12. Despite playing away from their usual home ground, the team maintained control through the 90 minutes to secure the three points.
Manager Shin Tae-yong praised the squad’s concentration after the final whistle. The South Korean coach pointed out that the players maintained their focus until the end of the match, though he stressed that the team must work harder as the season progresses.

Finishing Remains a Central Concern
Despite the three consecutive victories—which follow earlier wins against Borneo FC and Persib Bandung—Shin highlighted a significant area for improvement. The team’s primary issue is finishing chances and raising overall goal productivity.
Through the opening three matches, Persija has scored four goals. That output trails several league rivals, including Arema FC with eight goals, Madura United with seven, and both Dewa United and Bali United with six goals each.
“Ya, sejujurnya, saya berpikir seandainya para pemain memiliki penyelesaian akhir yang sedikit lebih baik, sebenarnya kami bisa menunjukkan permainan yang bagus dengan lebih mudah,” Shin said, noting that the players always prepare to score but lacked fortune in front of goal during this fixture.
The manager expressed confidence that sharpening the attack will allow Alexander Jeremejeff and the rest of the team to convert more of their opportunities in upcoming fixtures.

With nine points from three matches, Persija occupies second place in the Super League table, trailing leaders Madura United only on goal difference.
Persija will return to action on October 10, 2026, traveling to face PSIM Yogyakarta at Sultan Agung Stadium in Bantul.
