Pardubice Holds Off Písek Surge Behind Bonham’s 30 Points
Defending silver medalists Pardubice traveled to Písek and weathered a determined home challenge to secure a 92-82 win, pushing their record to a clean 4-0. Písek welcomed back captain Vojtěch Sýkora for his first appearance of the season, and the hosts started brightly on their home floor.
The momentum swung in the second quarter as Pardubice seized control. Bonham led the charge with 30 points, including seven three-pointers, amassing 25 of those points in the first half alone. Teammate Key contributed a double-double with 19 points and 12 rebounds.
“It was probably our best performance of the season, and I think we can build on that,” Pardubice head coach Jan Šotnar said after the game. “The crucial factor was obviously Bonham’s great individual performance, but all the players deserve praise for how they worked. Playing in Písek is really demanding, but we handled it.”
Písek center Martin Svoboda matched his opponents’ physical intensity inside, recording a double-double of 17 points and 13 rebounds. Despite the loss, Písek holds a 3-1 record through four rounds.
“We really pushed ourselves to the limit and fought Pardubice for 40 minutes,” Písek head coach Jan Čech said. “Who knows how it would have turned out if Matěj Burda hadn’t had to leave the game and Vojta Sýkora didn’t have limited minutes.”
Slavia Dominates Olomoucko to Claim Top Spot
Slavia Praha put on a commanding display at home, routing Olomoucko 88-62 after building a lead as large as 33 points. The hosts established control early, taking a 26-14 lead after the first quarter and stretching it to 52-22 by halftime. Bohačík and McCollum each scored 13 points to pace Slavia, while Harper chipped in 12. The victory lifts Slavia to the top of the league standings with a 4-0 record, while Olomoucko suffered its third defeat.
Ústí nad Labem and Děčín Secure Round Four Victories
Ústí nad Labem continued its upward trajectory following an opening-day loss, defeating last season’s quarterfinal opponent Opava 86-76 for its third straight win. McGhee led the charge for Ústí with 26 points, overcoming a 17-point effort from Opava’s Matěj Svoboda.
Meanwhile, Děčín improved to 3-1 by defeating Brno 86-78, fueled by a dominant first half. Timko scored 20 of his game-high 27 points before halftime, helping the hosts build a 32-17 lead after the opening quarter. Brno’s nineteen-year-old Synáček scored 20 points in the loss.
In other action, Ostrava defeated Hradec Králové 89-82 behind 19 points apiece from Screen and Palyza, matching a 27-point night from Hradec Králové’s Banks. USK Praha edged out Plzeň 84-81, spoiling Plzeň’s bid for a first victory since returning to the top flight after 14 years.
