Former AC Milan and Watford striker M’Baye Niang has officially signed with French Ligue 2 side USL Dunkerque on a one-season contract with an option for a further year, as reported by French football media.

The 31-year-old Senegalese centre-forward arrives in northern France as a free agent. According to reports from regional and international coverage, Niang parted ways with Turkish club Gençlerbirliği SK prior to completing the move. During his stint in Turkey, Niang featured in 27 matches, finding the back of the net six times and providing two assists across all competitions last season.
USL Dunkerque confirmed the acquisition on a Saturday, securing the veteran attacker ahead of his 32nd birthday. The agreement includes a baseline one-year commitment alongside a club option to extend the partnership for an additional season, adding a high-quality addition to the Ligue 2 roster.
A Well-Traveled Career Across Top European Leagues
Niang’s arrival in Dunkerque marks the sixteenth professional club of a journeyman career that began at the SM Caen youth academy, where he made his senior professional breakthrough. Over more than a decade at the highest levels of European football, the forward has suited up for storied institutions including AC Milan in Italy’s Serie A and Watford in the English Premier League.
His resume also features extensive experience in the French top flight. Across stints with Montpellier HSC, Stade Rennais, Girondins de Bordeaux, and AJ Auxerre, Niang has amassed over 160 appearances and scored approximately 40 goals in Ligue 1. Outside of Europe, his career includes a spell with Moroccan powerhouse Wydad AC.
