Malick Meiga Signs with Seattle Seahawks: Quebec Receiver Returns to NFL

Meiga’s path to the Pacific Northwest features several stops across the collegiate and professional ranks. After going unselected in the NFL draft, he originally signed with the Carolina Panthers in June. However, the organization released him in August.

Despite his release from Carolina, the wide receiver showcased his abilities during the preseason. He logged his first official NFL action during the Hall of Fame Game on Aug. 6, securing one reception on two targets for a gain of 13 yards. Now, the Seahawks add the Canadian pass-catcher to their practice squad as the franchise navigates the rigorous NFL regular season.

Collegiate Background at Penn State and Coastal Carolina

Before breaking into the professional ranks, Meiga built a solid collegiate resume across two NCAA programs. He spent three seasons playing for Penn State before transferring to Coastal Carolina for his final two years of eligibility.

Across 51 total career games in the NCAA, Meiga recorded 35 receptions for 432 receiving yards and two touchdowns.
