Kenzy Ammoura, born in 2009, elected not to report back to the Paradou academy, opting instead to pursue his career in Europe. The young forward scored 24 goals in U19 the past campaign, an output that caught the attention of Villarreal. Prior to his development within the Paradou system, Ammoura spent time at USM Alger.
Despite his scoring record at the youth level, Ammoura was not part of the Algeria U17 squad that competed in the Africa Cup of Nations (CAN), nor has he received call-ups ahead of the World Cup scheduled to take place in Qatar this November.
A Growing Trend of Youth Departures at Paradou
Ammoura’s departure mirrors a broader pattern of young talent leaving the Paradou academy during the current transfer window. Earlier in the summer, Ben Idder completed a transfer to Nice, while 16-year-old Yacine Abed made a move to Qatar to sign with Al Ahli, though Abed has since returned to Algeria, at least on a temporary basis.
Ammoura is the third young player to leave after Ben Idder.
