Judo Club Ytracois: New Season and Classes Begin in Ytrac

The Judo Club Ytracois has officially launched its new sporting season. A comprehensive opening training camp was held at its facility, according to scheduling details. Classes for all categories—ranging from mini-poussins, poussins, benjamins, and minimes to cadets—recommenced under the guidance of the club’s coaching staff.

Tatami Reopened

A Weekend Blend of Conditioning and Nutrition

The club’s opening weekend camp was designed to ease athletes back onto the tatami after the summer break. It featured a structured blend of athletic conditioning, nutritional education, and social activities.

Saturday’s schedule opened with a dietary workshop led by professional dietitian Véronique Madrignac-Hozjan. The session aimed at helping athletes properly fuel their bodies for combat sports. This was followed by a strength and conditioning session supervised by club coaches Jordan and Karl.

Balancing Physical Rigor with Community Socials

Following a communal picnic lunch, participants returned to the mats for a gentle judo session focused on re-establishing balance and movement sensations. The first day concluded with a group tasting of a homemade banana bread prepared by Madrignac-Hozjan.

Sunday morning began with a secondary physical conditioning workout, leading into a midday barbecue social event before concluding with an afternoon technical judo practice.

Registration for the camp was made available through online enrollment forms for members and external participants born in 2016 and earlier. Regular weekly sessions subsequently resumed across all age groups.

Milestone Achievements and New Black Belts

The club’s active start to the season follows a series of milestone achievements recorded earlier in the year. During a regional grading session held in Limoges, Judo Club Ytracois members secured vital technical and competitive advancements.

Christophe Kareh and Maxence Derouette successfully validated their second-unit technical exams (UV2) in the morning session.

The afternoon competitive tournament (Shiai) produced additional promotions. Aline PLAT, Liam Cunuder, and Maxence Derouette each earned the required 10 to 30 points to finalize their respective black belt requirements. Those results elevated the club’s total number of home-grown black belts to nine, reflecting steady growth in technical standards across the roster.

Academic Honors Accompany Athletic Success

Academic achievements among club members were also formally recognized by the organization following summer examination results. Baccalauréat honors were achieved by Liam Cunuder (Mention Assez Bien), Romain Chabbert (Mention Bien), and Manon Viguier (Mention Assez Bien).

In national middle school testing, Maxence Derouette earned a Mention Très Bien on the Brevet National, alongside honors for Christophe Kareh and passing marks for Nélio Montourcy.
