Despite the sudden escalation, the team competition continued to its conclusion. The host club, JC Leipzig, ultimately claimed an 8:6 victory over the reigning Bavarian powerhouse TSV Abensberg. However, the result was entirely overshadowed by the post-match conduct.

JC Leipzig officials and team members expressed immediate shock and issued public apologies following the event.
