The controversy erupted on Thursday evening during a broadcast of ESPN Vandaag. Kraay did not mince words when discussing the officiating performance of Alejandro Hernández, who overturned two separate goalscoring efforts by the Dutch national team during the high-profile European fixture.

The primary flashpoint of Kraay’s frustration centered on a disallowed header by Dutch captain Virgil van Dijk. The defender rose above the German backline to turn home a corner kick delivered by Tijjani Reijnders, only for the referee to blow his whistle for a supposed foul involving Brian Brobbey.
