“I explained before the match what kind of team Frosinone is. Maybe I wasn’t good enough in making sure the team understood that,” Fabregas said. He added that the scoreline did not entirely reflect the run of play, pointing to Frosinone goalkeeper Lorenzo Palmisani’s standout performance. “I wouldn’t be surprised if today we won 4-1 because Palmisani made many saves.”

Palmisani finished the match with seven crucial saves to keep a clean sheet against Como’s attack. Fabregas conceded that his team lacked control in key moments, noting, “We did not have good control, we had four chances to score. When you lose, you get angry and then you analyze, but Frosinone played the match the way they wanted and we were not able to keep up with them. Frosinone played well to hurt us, we clearly have to improve.”

Looking Ahead in Serie A

Despite the setback, Fabregas emphasized that a single loss does not derail the long-term goals of Il Lariani. With 38 matches on the Italian top-flight schedule, Fabregas argued that early-season table positions carry little weight until the spring.

“We talk after five matches. There is no point in doing that. There are 38 matches and the standings only matter at the end of the season,” Fabregas said. “We must talk about Frosinone who played great today because they deserved it.”

The defeat leaves Como with 10 points, sitting alongside Juventus in the early Serie A standings. Frosinone, meanwhile, continues an impressive run of form following an opening-week loss to Juventus, climbing to sixth place with 10 points after stringing together positive results against Sassuolo, Venezia, and Como.
