French savers reviewing their financial strategies this autumn are encountering a wave of new life insurance products designed to lower fees and modernize asset allocation. Major financial distributors have launched competitive policies featuring specialized real estate funds, index funds, and cross-border structures, offering alternatives to traditional portfolios as economic conditions shift.
Placement-direct Patrimoine Targets Real Estate Investors
The mutual insurer Garance has partnered with online broker Placement-direct.fr to launch Placement-direct Patrimoine, a policy structured specifically for real estate investors. The contract features five SCPIs (real estate investment companies) that carry no entry fees, including Iroko Zen, Remake Live, and Mistral Sélection. According to Henri Réau, development director at the brokerage, the policy carries no investment constraints, allowing subscribers to place up to 100% of their capital into SCPIs while receiving 100% of the rental income.
The yield on the euro fund scales dynamically based on the percentage of unit-linked supports held within the portfolio. Returns range from 2.80% for portfolios with less than 40% unit-linked allocations up to 4.70% for those maintaining at least 60% in unit-linked funds in 2025.
Lucya CNP Introduces Low-Cost Management with CNP Assurances
Broker Lucya, formerly known as Assurancevie.com, entered the market with Lucya CNP, developed alongside CNP Assurances, France’s second-largest life insurance provider. The policy provides access to 1,200 investment supports, encompassing direct equities, mutual funds, exchange-traded funds (ETFs), SCPIs, private equity, and structured products.
Yannick Hamon, general manager of the platform, noted that the contract offers competitive pricing structures. The policy features zero entry fees, management fees of 0.3% on unit-linked supports, and a 0.70% rate on the euro fund. The platform also levies no transaction fees on ETF trades.
Yomoni Lux Opens Luxembourg Insurance Market at Lower Thresholds
Online broker Yomoni has partnered with the local subsidiary of AG2R La Mondiale to introduce Yomoni Lux, a Luxembourg-based life insurance contract. While typically reserved for high-net-worth clients, the policy lowers the entry barrier to 50,000 euros. Sébastien d’Oranon, president of Yomoni, stated that the product brings regulatory protections historically associated with affluent portfolios to a broader client base. The structure also includes access to a multi-currency euro fund comprising up to 40% of outstanding assets.
Caravel Partners with Apicil Epargne for Climate-Aligned Portfolios
Fintech firm Caravel, acquired by the Spanish group Indexa Capital, expanded its offerings by introducing a life insurance policy managed by Apicil Epargne. Built entirely on delegated management using ETFs aligned with the Paris Agreement, the portfolio excludes fossil fuels and targets a 50% reduction in carbon footprint compared to benchmark indices. Total annual fees, which cover contract management, mandate costs, and ETF expenses, are capped at a maximum of 1.23%.
