Held under favorable weather conditions, the competition required archers to spend approximately three hours aiming at volumetric targets shaped like real animals, according to regional sports reports.
Local athletes from the Ponferrada archery club put on a strong performance on home grounds, capturing a total of five medals during the single-day event. The haul included two gold medals, one silver, and two bronze medals across multiple distinct categories, reflecting widespread local competitiveness in the discipline.

The event was organized across five specialized bow divisions: compound, recurve, barebow (arco desnudo), traditional, and longbow. According to published tournament records, medals were distributed among several regional clubs spanning Ponferrada, Galicia, Astorga, Benavente, Bembibre, and Guadalajara.
In the compound bow division, José Álvarez Rodríguez of Ponferrada secured the gold medal. Jaime Abilleira Villaverde representing Galicia took the silver, while José Luis Bahamonde Blanco added a bronze for Ponferrada.
The recurve category saw Daniel Rodríguez Beneítez claim the gold medal for Ponferrada, with clubmate Cristina Fernández González earning the silver.
