Feyenoord has surpassed traditional rival Ajax in total squad market valuation following a major market update on Transfermarkt.nl, with the Rotterdam club’s roster now valued at 245,23 million euro. The updated figures illustrate a significant financial shift near the top of the Eredivisie, though underlying roster compositions—including high-profile loan players—reveal a complex picture of domestic squad values.
Feyenoord Climbs to Second in Eredivisie Valuation
Prior to the latest market update, Feyenoord’s squad carried a combined estimated market value of 210,73 million euro. Following adjustments across the roster, that figure climbed by 34,5 million euro—representing an increase of just over 16 percent—to reach 245,23 million euro.
This upward movement places Feyenoord ahead of Ajax in overall squad value. Ajax’s current squad valuation stands at 222,20 million euro, leaving Feyenoord roughly 23 million euro clear of the Amsterdam side in the broader market standings.
The Impact of Loan Players on Squad Valuations
A closer examination of the numbers highlights the influence of temporary signings currently registered with both clubs. Ajax features two particularly high-valued loanees within its ranks: Tolu Arokodare, on loan from Wolverhampton Wanderers, and Simon Adingra, on loan from Sunderland. Both players carry individual market valuations of 22 million euro.
Ajax holds purchase options for both individuals. Reports indicate the buyout clause for Arokodare sits at approximately 20 million euro, while the option for Adingra is valued near 16 million euro. Because neither option has been formally exercised, neither player is permanently contracted to Ajax.
When loan players are removed entirely from the calculations for both clubs, the valuation gap widens substantially. Feyenoord’s figures would exclude only left-back Javi López, who is on loan and carries a 5 million euro valuation. In contrast, removing Ajax’s loanees—including Arokodare, Adingra, Thilo Kehrer, and Marc-André ter Stegen—results in Feyenoord holding an approximate 73 million euro advantage over Ajax in permanent squad value.
PSV Retains the Top Spot in the Netherlands
Despite Feyenoord’s notable financial growth, one Eredivisie club remains comfortably ahead of the Rotterdam side. PSV Eindhoven maintains the highest squad market valuation in the league, boasting a total of 304,65 million euro including loan players. That figure sits 59,42 million euro above Feyenoord’s current total.
PSV’s valuation also factors in a significant temporary addition. Lutsharel Geertruida is currently on loan at the Eindhoven club and is valued at 20 million euro. Excluding Geertruida reduces PSV’s squad value to approximately 284,65 million euro, narrowing the gap with Feyenoord to 44,42 million euro.
