Following the Azerbaijan Grand Prix, disappointment dominates the mood within Ferrari as drivers Charles Leclerc and Lewis Hamilton admit their cars lacked the necessary pace to challenge their primary rivals on the Baku street circuit.

Leclerc Cites Deficit After Fourth-Place Finish

Charles Leclerc secured a fourth-place finish in Baku, yet he described his race as relatively muted due to a clear speed deficit compared to the front-runners. The Monegasque driver noted that the team extracted the maximum possible result from the weekend, but acknowledged that their competitors maintained superior speed throughout all sessions. “Dosáhli jsme maximálního výsledku. Looking ahead to the next round, Leclerc emphasized the need to remain vigilant given how quickly competitive orders can shift, adding that he looks forward to getting back behind the wheel in Sepang.

Hamilton Struggles with Tire Management in Sixth

Lewis Hamilton crossed the finish line in sixth position, rounding out a difficult weekend for the Scuderia. Sandwiched between the two Ferrari cars on the timing sheets was Kimi Antonelli of Mercedes, who charged to a fifth-place finish after starting all the way back in sixteenth position on the grid. Hamilton pointed to difficulties in keeping his Pirelli tires operating within the correct working window as a primary factor holding back his performance.
