An 11-0 Run Breaks Open the Contest
The match began with a tightly contested opening frame, as the scoreboard showed an 8-8 tie through the first five minutes.
Fenerbahçe Tarfin turned the tide with an 11-0 run after Beşiktaş struggled to convert on consecutive possessions.
Halftime Command Built on Baldwin and Key
Fenerbahçe extended their advantage in the second quarter behind strong performances from Baldwin and a late fast-break layup from Key with 53 seconds remaining on the clock.
That sequence pushed the margin to 19 points, sending the yellow-navy side into halftime with a commanding 46-27 lead while Beşiktaş fought to find any rhythm from beyond the arc.
Beşiktaş Claws Back After the Break
Beşiktaş responded immediately after the break, opening the third quarter with a 5-0 run capped by a Zizic layup at the 22-minute mark to trim the deficit to 46-32.
The black-and-white team found more success working out of the paint during this frame, narrowing the gap to 58-46 heading into the final period.
Late-Game Defense Secures the Trophy
Tempos accelerated in the fourth quarter when Beşiktaş cut the margin to single digits at 60-52 following a free throw by Metecan Birsen in the 32nd minute. However, Fenerbahçe answered with a quick 6-0 burst sparked by Baldwin at the free-throw line to make it 66-52, maintaining control through a scoreless drought in the final five minutes to seal the 72-59 victory.
Medals and MVP Honors in Istanbul
Following the final buzzer, the official presentation ceremony took place on the floor of the Sinan Erdem Sports Hall. Beşiktaş players first received their runners-up medals and second-place recognition before the Fenerbahçe squad collected their championship medals. Gençlik ve Spor Bakanı Osman Aşkın Bak alongside Türkiye Basketbol Federasyonu Başkanı Hidayet Türkoğlu handed the trophy to Fenerbahçe captain Melih Mahmutoğlu.
Shavon Shields earned the Most Valuable Player (MVP) award for his performance during the 39th edition of the tournament. The triumph adds another milestone to Jasikevicius’ tenure in Istanbul, which already includes a EuroLeague title alongside domestic league and cup honors since his arrival in the 2023-24 season.
