David Alaba signs one-year contract with Udinese as a free agent

The transfer marks an unexpected new chapter for the veteran player, who entered the free-agent market after his contract with the Spanish giants expired on July 1. Because he was unattached, Alaba was permitted to sign outside the standard European transfer window deadlines.

In Germany, he secured an extensive trophy collection featuring two Champions Leagues, two Club World Cups, two UEFA Super Cups, and ten Bundesliga titles, alongside more than 100 international caps for the Austria national team since his debut at age 17.
