Canegrate transforms into the national capital of archery as it prepares to host the 64th edition of the FITARCO Target Outdoor Championships from Thursday, September 3, to Sunday, September 6, at the Sandro Pertini Municipal Sports Center on via Terni, according to local reports. The four-day national showcase brings roughly 900 archers from more than 235 clubs across Italy to the Alto Milanese region, marking a major milestone for the sport’s outdoor calendar.
Canegrate Prepares for 900 Elite Archers
Division Breakdowns and Visitor Influx
According to official presentation figures, the entry list features 371 competitors in the Recurve division, 285 in the Compound division, and 240 in the Barebow division.
Total attendance across the four-day competition is projected to comfortably surpass 2,000 people when factoring in coaches, referees, officials, volunteers, family members, and supporters. Local organizers and municipal authorities note that the influx of visitors will provide a substantial boost to tourism, hospitality, and the local economy.
Admission to the Sandro Pertini Municipal Sports Center will remain free and open to the public throughout the entire event. Competitors will vie for Italian class titles ranging from youth divisions—including Ragazzi, Allievi, and Juniores—up to the Masters division, alongside the highly anticipated absolute individual, team, and mixed team titles.
Arcieri del Roccolo Takes the Reins
The event is organized by Arcieri del Roccolo, marking the first time in the club’s history that it has undertaken a federation event of this scale. The club has spent months coordinating preparations alongside the Italian Archery Federation (FITARCO) and the FITARCO Lombardy Regional Committee. The championships are held under the patronage of the Lombardy Region, the Municipality of Canegrate, and CONI Lombardia.
