A routine property cleanout in the residential neighborhood of Maipú turned into a major police emergency when a woman taking over her late father’s estate discovered an extensive military arsenal, according to local authorities. The startling find, which triggered an immediate response from bomb disposal squads and local law enforcement, included more than a thousand rounds of ammunition, gunpowder, a grenade, and various firearms.
Discovery at the Maipú Residence
The incident came to light when a woman began clearing out a property located along the 2700 block of Cacheuta Street in Maipú, following the recent death of her father. The woman took possession of the home and immediately contacted emergency services via 911 upon stumbling across the hidden weapons and explosive materials.
In response to the call, the Maipú Fiscal Office ordered officers from Comisaría 54° to conduct an initial ocular inspection of the premises. Given the hazardous nature of the discovery, specialized personnel from the Explosives Division were dispatched to secure the scene and evaluate the stability of the ordnance.
Weapons and Ammunition Seized
During the multi-agency operation, investigators cataloged a significant quantity of military hardware and civilian weaponry. The seized inventory included one grenade, two handguns—specifically an 11.25 mm pistol and a 9 mm pistol—along with 12 magazines, various unclassified cartridges, and spent shell casings.
