Gli Arcieri Città di Terni have secured three gold medals and one bronze at the 64th Italian Target Archery Championships (Campionati Italiani Targa), reinforcing their status among Italy’s top archery clubs, according to regional reporting. Held in Canegrate in the province of Milan, the national tournament drew approximately 900 archers representing over 250 clubs from across the country.
Youth Squad Claims Recurve Gold
The Terni club’s first gold medal of the competition came in the men’s recurve youth division (Allievi maschile). According to local coverage from Umbria 24, the team of Alessio Ligniti, Lorenzo Lucidi, and Riccardo Cianchi captured the Italian class team title by finishing with a combined score of 1.855 points. Arcieri Voghera placed second in the category, trailing with 1.777 points. Club representatives noted that the victory highlights the ongoing technical development within their youth sector, where junior competitors train alongside experienced coaches and senior archers.
Compound Success in Class and Absolute Events
The club added two more gold medals in the senior men’s compound division (compound Senior maschile). Federico Pagnoni, Lorenzo Gubbini, and Roberto Dottori claimed the class team title with a score of 2.084 points, edging out the Compagnia Arcieri del Torrazzo by a narrow margin of three points, as they finished at 2.081. The same Terni trio followed up that performance by winning the absolute team competition (gara Assoluta) for the second year. In the final match, the Arcieri Città di Terni defeated Arcieri Iuvenilia 230–228 to secure the national title.
In addition to the team victories, Federico Pagnoni added an individual bronze medal in the compound competition for the Terni delegation, rounding out a successful weekend in Lombardy.
Upcoming Public Outreach in Terni
Following the conclusion of the national championships, the club is turning its focus back to community engagement. The organization announced plans to participate in the upcoming Notte Bianca event in downtown Terni on Thursday, September 11. Club organizers stated that the evening will offer the public a chance to learn more about archery, meet athletes and coaches, and sign up for free trial sessions designed to introduce newcomers to the sport’s combination of concentration and technical discipline.
