The A.M.B. Magalas badminton club has welcomed 21 young players and 19 adults to its ranks, starting its season with energy and dynamism.

Bessan Running Off to a Fast Start on Regional Trails
Further demonstrating the department’s athletic momentum, the Bessan Running club has plunged straight into regional competition. According to reports from the region, club member Lucie Arnal captured two victories on the Vinotrail and the Mécatrail circuits.
Other athletes from Bessan have traveled to tackle demanding endurance tests. Club representatives competed at the Phoebus Trail—serving as the opening leg of the French long trail championship—as well as the Brassacatrail in Brassac. Organized by French national team member Maxime Durand, the Brassacatrail challenged runners with muddy, technical paths ranging from 8 to 28 kilometers, featuring over 1,600 meters of elevation gain.
On the asphalt, Patrice Ouzergouz clocked a 3:34 finish at the Montpellier Marathon to secure a master 3 podium finish, while Stéphane Alvez represented the club internationally at the Barcelona Marathon. Locally, Bessan Running is organizing its fourth annual 11-kilometer nature race, scheduled for July 8 during the traditional Place de la Fontaine festival, accompanied by weekly training sessions on Tuesdays and Wednesdays.
Clermont-l’Hérault Launches Summer Festival and Sports Calendar
In nearby Clermont-l’Hérault, municipal leaders have unveiled an extensive summer program blending sports, gastronomy, and culture. Mayor Gérard Bessière, working alongside sports and festivities deputy Georges Elnecave, announced that the town will host roughly 30 events over a two-month span.
The town’s summer slate features two primary festival centerpieces: the Cord’Hérault classical music festival, running from July 7 to 15, and the Salagou en chanson festival from August 5 to 7, which boasts performances by artists including Cali and Magali Ripoll. Weekly community gatherings, such as the “Jeudis des terroirs” markets and the “Nocturnes du Salagou” wine-tasting evenings near the pontoon, anchor the seasonal schedule through July and August.
