The 2027 Spanish Super Cup (İspanya Süper Kupası) will be hosted in Istanbul at the Atatürk Olympic Stadium, according to an official announcement from the Royal Spanish Football Federation (RFEF). The tournament, scheduled for February 2 to 7, 2027, will bring four of Spain’s top clubs—Barcelona, Real Madrid, Real Sociedad, and Atlético Madrid—to Turkey for the high-profile multi-team event.
RFEF Confirms Istanbul as Host for 2027 Tournament
According to the RFEF, governing body officials evaluated hosting proposals from seven different countries before ultimately selecting Istanbul for the 2027 edition. In its official statement, the federation highlighted the tournament’s established footprint on the global sports calendar.
“Uluslararası futbol takviminde sağlam bir yer edinmiş, dünya çapında 150’den fazla ülkede yayınlanan ve 2016’daki şampiyonluğunda Barcelona’nın zafer kazandığı bu turnuvanın 2027 edisyonu İstanbul’da gerçekleşecek,” the RFEF stated in its release, noting that the competition reaches broadcasters in more than 150 nations worldwide.
Tournament Format and Competing Spanish Giants
The current Spanish Super Cup format features a four-team knockout structure. The participants qualify based on their final league standings in LaLiga and their performances in the Copa del Rey. Real Madrid, Barcelona, Real Sociedad, and Atlético Madrid will travel to Turkey to contest the silverware.
The respective winners advance directly to the championship match at the Atatürk Olympic Stadium, where the 2027 Super Cup winner will be crowned.

The choice of venue places another marquee European soccer event inside Istanbul’s largest sports arena. The Atatürk Olympic Stadium previously hosted UEFA Champions League finals and high-stakes international fixtures.
