Spar Girona has officially signed South Sudanese center Adut Bulgak to a one-year contract, adding interior presence and international experience to the Spanish club’s frontcourt.

The center arrives in Girona standing 1.93 meters tall and holding a Canadian passport, making her the eighth new addition to the squad for the 2026/27 season. According to club announcements, Bulgak spent the previous campaign with Azulmarino Mallorca Palma in the Lliga Femenina Challenge. During the regular season, she appeared in 13 matches, averaging 11.2 points and 8.7 rebounds per contest. Her production increased during the promotion playoffs to the Liga Femenina Endesa, where she posted 14 points and 10 rebounds across three games.

Bulgak brings a well-traveled resume spanning North America, Europe, Asia, and Latin America. After graduating from O’Leary High School in Edmonton, Canada, she played college basketball at Florida State from 2014 to 2016. Her collegiate performance led the New York Liberty to select her 12th overall in the 2016 WNBA Draft, and she later played for the Chicago Sky. Her professional journey subsequently took her through Spain with IDK Euskotren, several clubs in Israel including Elitzur Ramla, Maccabi Ramat Gan, and Maccabi Haifa, as well as stints in South Korea with Shinhan Bank S-Birds, Russia with Nadezhda Orenburg, France with Toulouse and Flammes Carolo, and Mexico with Libertadores de Querétaro.

On the international stage, Bulgak has emerged as a central figure for the South Sudan national team. She contributed to her country’s historic bronze medal finish at the FIBA Women’s AfroBasket 2025 in Abidjan, Côte d’Ivoire. More recently, she competed in the FIBA Women’s Basketball World Cup 2026 Qualifying Tournament in Wuhan, China, and the FIBA Women’s Olympic Pre-Qualifying Tournament in Mexico, where she averaged 19.3 points, 15.3 rebounds, and an average rating of 24 across three games.
