A High-Profile Switch to Rio de Janeiro
It marks his first stint in Brazilian football.
Shortly after being unveiled by the Rio de Janeiro-based club, Sosa opened up about his long-term goals in an interview with ESPN. He pointed directly toward the Albiceleste as a target he still intends to reach.
Chasing the Albiceleste Dream
Sosa has not yet earned a senior cap for Argentina. However, his international resume includes significant youth experience.
He featured prominently for the Under-20 side during the 2019 South American U-20 Championship and the 2019 FIFA U-20 World Cup. Across 15 appearances between March 2018 and the World Cup in Poland, he established himself as a fixture in the squad. He even wore the captain’s armband during a group-stage match against South Korea.

The move follows a productive two-and-a-half-year spell in domestic Argentine football with Racing.
During his tenure in Avellaneda, Sosa made 113 appearances across all competitions, scored eight goals, and helped the club capture two major international trophies: the 2024 Copa Sudamericana and the 2025 Recopa Sudamericana. Upon his departure, Racing released an emotional tribute video highlighting his key moments and thanking him for his contributions.
