State sports director Antonio Cepeda Licón also joined the presentation at the National Center for Development of Sports Talent and High Performance (CNAR).
Tournament Schedule and Format
Competition across the four standard disciplines will run through the weekend following an opening day focused on arrivals and bracket establishment. According to event organizers, the 32 participating athletes are divided evenly across four distinct categories:
- 8 archers in women’s compound
- 8 archers in men’s compound
- 8 archers in women’s recurve
- 8 archers in men’s recurve
Competitors represent a diverse field of nations, including South Korea, Germany, Austria, Czechia, China, Colombia, Denmark, Spain, the United States, Estonia, France, Great Britain, India, Italy, the Netherlands, Turkey, and hosts Mexico. The opening events begin on September 10 with a public draw to determine head-to-head elimination brackets starting from the quarterfinals, followed immediately by the official tournament inauguration. Official training sessions are scheduled for Friday, September 11, with medal matches and final rounds running on Saturday, September 12, and Sunday, September 13.
Local Representation and Global Standings
Mexican athletes maintain a significant presence in the 32-person roster, accounting for seven of the competitors. Four of those national team members hail specifically from Coahuila, a detail highlighted by local organizers.
World Archery México President Gabriel Ramos Rodríguez noted that the upcoming tournament marks the 20th edition of the international circuit, emphasizing that Mexican competitors have consistently secured podium finishes throughout the history of the event. Among the confirmed participants in the compound divisions are high-ranking international names such as Colombia’s Sara López, Turkey’s Hazal Burun, Estonia’s Jaatma Lisell, and America’s Alexis Ruiz on the women’s side, alongside Denmark’s Matías Fullerton and France’s Nicolas Girard in the men’s bracket. Mexican archers Andrea Becerra and Dafne Quintero also feature prominently in the women’s compound lineup.
