Robbie Ure has completed his transfer to Sevilla FC as the club’s seventh signing for the 2026–27 season, arriving from Swedish side IK Sirius on a fixed fee of 6.5 million euros plus add-ons. The 22-year-old Scottish striker, who notched 15 goals in 15 matches in the Swedish league prior to his move, addressed club media in his first official interview to outline his ambitions for La Liga under manager Luis García Plaza.

Ure’s transition to Spanish football follows a prolific run in Sweden that drew attention from across Europe. Speaking to club media, the forward acknowledged that when he moved to IK Sirius, the overarching ambition was always to break into one of Europe’s top five leagues. However, when Sevilla’s interest materialized roughly three weeks before the deal was finalized, his decision was straightforward.
«When I heard about it, I only thought about coming here and playing for Sevilla,» Ure told club channels. «It is a very big club in Spain, but also in Europe, and the opportunity to come here and play was something I wanted so much.»
The young striker noted that his previous international moves have hardened him to cultural shifts, making the transition to Seville feel like a natural progression rather than a daunting hurdle. Having previously adapted to life abroad, Ure views changing countries as an exciting and normal part of a modern football career.

«I think my biggest virtue is scoring goals. As I said then, I don’t care how the ball goes into the goal. They all count and my main priority when I step onto the pitch is to score goals,» Ure stated. «I have other virtues, of course, but this, for me, is one of the best.»
The 22-year-old added that maintaining mental calm and slowing down the game during high-pressure scoring opportunities has been vital to his recent success. Beyond pure finishing, Ure describes his profile as that of a classic number nine capable of dropping deep to link play, hold up the ball, and create chances for teammates when operating in open spaces.

Before putting pen to paper, Ure held a telephone consultation with Sevilla manager Luis García Plaza to discuss tactical expectations, squad integration, and life in Andalusia. The forward noted that the conversation solidified his desire to join the project immediately.
«I spoke with the coach last week and it was a good phone conversation,» Ure explained. «I have a lot of respect for everyone and, when I spoke with him, he explained how he likes to play and how I can be effective for his team. After that conversation I felt that, without a doubt, I wanted to be part of his team.»
