Latvian youth basketball standout Nadīne Graudiņa finished the European U-16 Championship as the tournament’s second-leading scorer, averaging 15.6 points across seven games, according to official tournament statistics.

Perimeter Firepower Drives Latvia

Graudiņa’s offensive output anchored a Latvia squad that ultimately secured a fourth-place finish at the championship.

Throughout the seven-match tournament, the young guard proved herself as one of the most dangerous perimeter threats in Europe, hitting 21 three-pointers—the highest total of any player in the field—while maintaining a 36,8% conversion rate from beyond the arc, which ranked seventh overall among all participating athletes.

Chasing the Scoring Crown

At the top of the individual scoring charts, Israel’s Michal Abudrama led the tournament with an average of 16.7 points over her seven appearances, placing her just ahead of Graudiņa’s 15.6-point average. Graudiņa’s efficiency from long distance provided a vital spark for Latvia’s offense, which averaged 67 points per game to finish as the fifth-highest scoring team in the tournament.

Balanced Team Contributions Under the Boards

Latvia’s balanced team statistics also highlighted contributions from guard Darina Ivanova, who dished out an average of 3.3 assists per contest over seven games. Ivanova’s playmaking placed her in a tie for ninth place in the tournament’s overall assist rankings.

Under the boards, Latvia pulled down an average of 45.7 rebounds per game, earning the fifth spot in team rebounding, while also posting the second-best three-point shooting percentage in the field at 30,1%.

The campaign concluded on a difficult note for the Latvian side, which dropped a 78-58 decision to France in the third-place playoff match.

At the summit of European youth basketball, Spain captured its 12th tournament title and successfully defended the crown it won the previous year. The Spanish side secured the championship in dominant fashion with an 87-40 victory over Slovenia in the gold-medal game.
