Clocking 22.49 seconds, the French sprinter missed his own national record by a single hundredth of a second, a mark he originally set last summer at the World Championships in Singapore. Swimming under the guidance of Michel Chrétien, Grousset outpaced Switzerland’s Noè Ponti, who finished in 22.69 seconds, and Russia’s Kornev, who touched in 22.70 seconds.
