The VI International U12 Basketball Tournament, known as “Azzurrito 2026,” is set to welcome a major contingent from Patagonia as Club Atlético Hispano Americano confirmed it will travel with 43 young athletes to Comodoro Rivadavia, according to local reports.
Tournament Schedule and Venue Details
The regional youth basketball showcase will run from August 7 through August 9 at the gymnasium of the Comisión de Actividades Infantiles (CAI) in Comodoro Rivadavia. As one of the most prominent youth basketball events in the region, the tournament brings together hundreds of boys and girls from across Patagonia to compete, learn, and build camaraderie.
Hispano Americano Delegation and Coaching Staff
Representing Río Gallegos as an ambassador for Santa Cruz province, Hispano Americano will field both female and male U12 divisions. According to regional coverage, the traveling delegation consists of 43 players eager to test their skills against top-tier regional competition. Guiding the young prospects is a coaching staff comprised of Matías Granatelli, Harold Smart, Christian Smart, Agostina Aminahuel, and Celina Muñiz.

Regional Clubs Joining the Competition
The “Azzurrito” tournament draws prominent youth programs from across the Patagonian landscape. Alongside Hispano Americano, confirmed participating institutions include Deseado Juniors from Puerto Deseado, Alas de Acero from Caleta Olivia, Náutico from Rada Tilly, Gimnasia y Esgrima, Federación Deportiva, Petroquímica, and tournament host CAI Comodoro Rivadavia. Organizers emphasize that the annual gathering prioritizes youth development, athletic exchange, and community-building well beyond the final score on the scoreboard.
