Hungarian authorities have registered former national team player Ákos Buzsáky as a missing person, according to official police records flagged by domestic media outlets.
According to police statements provided to the outlet, the search order was officially authorized and ordered by the local police department in Budapest’s 17th district. Authorities have not released further details regarding the circumstances surrounding his disappearance.

Buzsáky built a well-traveled professional playing career that stretched across top-tier European leagues before his retirement from the sport in 2015. A product of the MTK Budapest youth academy, the midfielder moved abroad in 2002 to join Portuguese powerhouse FC Porto. Following his time in Portugal, Buzsáky established himself prominently in English football.
