Enea Bastianini Leaves KTM to Join Trackhouse Racing for MotoGP 2027

Enea Bastianini has officially signed a two-year contract with Trackhouse Racing to compete in the MotoGP World Championship starting in 2027, leaving his current position with KTM Tech3 at the conclusion of the 2026 season.

Trackhouse Secures Bastianini for 2027

The announcement, confirmed by Trackhouse MotoGP through their official social media channels, places the Italian rider alongside Raul Fernandez in the team’s garage for the upcoming era of 850cc regulations. Bastianini’s arrival fills the final vacancy in the team’s 2027 lineup, following the earlier departure of Ai Ogura to the factory Yamaha squad.

Leadership Backs Veteran Experience

Trackhouse Justin Marks welcomed the signing, highlighting Bastianini’s extensive premier-class experience and proven race-winning pedigree.

“I am very enthusiastic to join the Trackhouse MotoGP Team for the next two MotoGP Championship seasons,” Bastianini said, noting that post-season testing in Valencia later this year will mark the official start of his tenure with the satellite Aprilia outfit. He pointed to the upcoming introduction of new motorcycles, tires, and technical regulations as a significant professional challenge.

A Proven Track Record on the Grid

Bastianini’s career trajectory includes a successful rise through the lower classes, securing the Moto2 world championship in 2020 before making his premier-class debut with Avintini Ducati in 2021. His breakout 2022 campaign featured four Grand Prix victories—at Qatar, the United States, France, and Aragon—culminating in a third-place finish in the overall riders’ standings.

Following a 2023 season disrupted by injuries, Bastianini rebounded in 2024, claiming nine podium finishes and two wins. He subsequently moved to the Red Bull KTM Tech3 setup for 2025, establishing himself as the manufacturer’s second-strongest rider behind Pedro Acosta across his stint with the Austrian brand.

Preparing for the 850cc Revolution

The 2027 technical regulations will overhaul the championship’s machinery, reducing engine displacement to 850cc alongside revised tires and technical regulations. Trackhouse management views Bastianini’s experience as a critical asset for navigating these sweeping rule changes.
