German football club Dynamo Dresden has introduced strict new regulations regarding video-bloggers and influencers filming during home matches, becoming the first prominent team in the country to take formal action against commercial pitch-side content creation.
Bundesliga club issued a formal statement to fans outlining a ban on commercial stadium vlogs. The restrictions prohibit recording match scenes and stadium visits for commercial exploitation under the club’s existing stadium regulations, while still permitting private souvenir photographs and brief personal videos.
The directive places particular emphasis on blocks K1 through K5, known locally as the K-Block, where the club’s passionate ultra groups traditionally stand. In a joint statement published under the headline “Vloggen? Nicht bei Dynamo” (Vlogging? Not at Dynamo), the club and fan representatives explained that filming match action and stadium visits for monetization undermines official broadcast partnerships.
“Das Filmen von Spielszenen und Stadionbesuchen mit dem Ziel einer kommerziellen Verwertung ist gemäß Stadionordnung nicht gestattet,” the joint statement reads, as reported by regional coverage. “Dieses Verbot dient insbesondere dem Schutz der Medien- und Verwertungsrechte unserer TV-Partner sowie der Rechte der Sportgemeinschaft Dynamo Dresden. Werden Inhalte monetarisiert, profitieren davon in erster Linie die jeweiligen Ersteller, während unser Verein dabei leer ausgeht.”
Fan Comfort and Protecting Media Rights
Beyond safeguarding television and media rights, club officials noted that the restrictions address growing complaints from supporters who wish to watch matches without facing persistent cameras and recording devices in their immediate vicinity. According to the club, mutual respect and consideration are essential prerequisites for maintaining a positive atmosphere on the stands.
The team announced that it plans to remain in active dialogue with supporters regarding the implementation of the rules.
Stadium Opening Secured Ahead of Darmstadt Fixture
The announcement arrives just ahead of Dynamo Dresden’s first home fixture of the new season against SV Darmstadt 98, scheduled for Sunday at 1:30 PM local time (11:30 UTC), with live coverage provided by Sky. The club confirmed it expects a full stadium for the match following a successful legal challenge.
According to sports legal reports, Dresden prevailed before the Permanent Arbitration Court of the German Football Association (DFB) against an earlier ruling by the DFB Federal Court. That initial punishment stemmed from serious incidents during a home match against Hertha BSC on April 4, which involved the ignition of 27 pyrotechnic devices, pitch incursions by at least 77 Dresden supporters from the K-Block, and clashes with security staff that resulted in at least 17 injuries and a 19-minute match stoppage.
While the DFB sports court had originally imposed hefty financial penalties and a partial spectator closure affecting roughly 9,500 seats across two home matches—with the second suspended on probation until the summer of 2027—Dresden challenged the partial closure as an unfair collective punishment. The arbitration court’s interim decision allows blocks K1 through K5 to remain open for the weekend fixture while legal proceedings continue.
