Canegrate Prepares to Host the 64th Italian Target Archery Championship

Organized with the backing of regional sports authorities, the four-day national showcase features competition across barebow, compound, and recurve disciplines for individual athletes, teams, and mixed formations with free public admission.

Tournament Schedule and Competition Structure

Competition begins on Thursday, September 3, featuring class championships for barebow, recurve, and compound disciplines in the A-R divisions alongside youth mixed-team events, closing with medal ceremonies as outlined by tournament organizers. Friday, September 4, transitions to individual class matches, starting with barebow archers in the morning session before compound competitors take the field in the afternoon. Action continues Saturday, September 5, with the recurve class championship alongside absolute team, mixed, and individual absolute competitions. The event culminates on Sunday, September 6, with the most anticipated brackets of the week: the absolute individual and team championships paired with mixed-team showdowns across all three bow categories.

Fan Engagement and Try Archery Activities

Beyond elite competition, spectators can watch national-level matches up close and visit a dedicated “Try Archery” area. Set up on-site, the public zone allows visitors of all ages to handle equipment and shoot their first arrows under the direct supervision of federal instructors from the Fitarco Lombardia Committee, offering a safe environment for newcomers to test the sport.

Sustainability Initiatives on the Competition Grounds

Organizers have integrated a strong environmental focus into the event under the slogan “Less plastic, more water for everyone, more sport, more respect for our land!” According to municipal event details, single-use plastic water bottles will not be distributed for free on the grounds. Instead, the venue will feature refrigerated, micro-filtered, and sanitized water dispensers where athletes, coaches, and staff can refill personal reusable bottles. A food and beverage refreshment point will remain operational on-site for general purchases.
