Championship Format and Dramatic Shoot-Offs
Competition rules required archers to navigate a grueling two-day schedule. Saturday featured the Round, where competitors shot two arrows per target, followed by the Track on Sunday, which limited participants to a single arrow per target. Flavio Boscarino earned his bronze medal in the Longbow category, while Daniele Bergia fought through to capture bronze in the Recurve Modern division. Both podium finishes were decided by dramatic shoot-offs, breaking ties as competitors traded arrows until one established a decisive lead.
Strong Finishes Across Multiple Divisions
Beyond the podium finishes, several other club members posted strong results in Lumezzane. Vincenzo Tuveri and Giuseppe D’Antonio finished inside the top ten within the competitive Longbow division. In the Barebow class, Rossano Scarfidi placed 11th, though teammate Claudio Barioli had to withdraw due to a hand injury. On the women’s side, Barbara Bizzini captured an 8th-place finish in Recurve Modern, while Fabrizio Geninatti finished 10th in the men’s Recurve Modern bracket.

Unlike traditional target archery, the 3D discipline replicates real-life hunting scenarios by using lifelike animal targets placed at varied angles and distances. The Comitato Sportivo Amatoriale Italiano Nazionale (CSAiN) oversees these national championships as a cornerstone event on the country’s archery calendar, drawing elite talent from every region.
Local Roots and Upcoming Schedule
The organization recently hosted a regional 3D event on March 8, 2026. While a subsequent regional tournament planned for March 21 in Fossano was cancelled due to local health restrictions, the team continues to train safely. Looking forward, the Arcieri Fossanesi Porta Sarmatoria 01Foss squad will turn its focus toward the outdoor regional and national calendars.
