Swedish golf icon Anna Nordqvist has officially played her final tournament on the LPGA Tour, concluding a celebrated professional career that features three major championship titles, according to reports by Viaplay and Swedish media outlets.
The Final Walk in Boston
Competing in the LPGA event in Boston, Nordqvist finished her final competitive round even-par following a round that included one birdie and one bogey. That performance sealed a 38th-place tie at one under par for the tournament, which was won by China’s Ruoning Yin at 14 under par, with fellow Swede Linnea Ström finishing 22nd at five under par.
Closing a Storied Journey Inside the Ropes
Before the weekend’s play concluded, the 37-year-old veteran announced that she was stepping away from full-time competition on the circuit. Speaking during Viaplay’s broadcast coverage, Nordqvist reflected on the end of her run.

”En del av mig är inte redo att vara klar. Det har varit några jobbiga år men jag kämpade mig tillbaka. De senaste veckorna har jag spelat bra golf och jag är stolt över mig själv att jag tog mig tillbaka,” Nordqvist said, noting that part of her still felt unprepared to walk away after battling back through difficult seasons to play strong golf down the stretch.
Emotions on the Closing Stretch
She added, ”Det känns som att jag kan lämna med stolthet och att jag gjorde mitt bästa från första till sista slag,” emphasizing that she leaves the game with her head held high after exhausting every effort.

Expressen reported that Nordqvist was close to tears during the closing stretch of her final tournament. Despite the heavy emotions, she successfully navigated the tournament cutline, refusing to quietly fade away from the leaderboard before making her final walk.
A Legacy of Major-Winning Grit
Her resume boasts three major titles, anchoring a multi-decade run at the highest level of women’s professional golf.
While the grind of competing week in and week out took a toll during recent seasons, her late-career resurgence proved her competitive grit remained intact. As the broadcast captured her final moments as an LPGA Tour member, Nordqvist summarized her immediate feelings simply: ”Jag kommer verkligen sakna det här.”
