Organized jointly by the Club Saetas del Desierto and the Municipalidad de Alto Hospicio through its sports department, the tournament showcased precision, technical skill, and high concentration under indoor conditions. According to local reports, the event operated within the framework of the FNDR project titled “Transferencia para el deporte recreativo, formativo y de competición de la comuna de Alto Hospicio,” an initiative backed by municipal leadership including Mayor Patricio Ferreira and the Cuerpo de Concejales to strengthen athletic pathways for youth.
Local Talent Shines in Indoor Competition
Representing the host commune, athletes from the municipal training schools delivered standout results in multiple brackets. In the Recurvo Sub 18 Masculino category, Santiago Sandoval captured the first-place finish. Meanwhile, the Recurvo Sub 18 Femenino division saw a complete sweep of the podium by local shooters, led by Zamira Alvarado in first place, followed by Isabella Medina in second and Angiebel Galindo in third.
These results highlight the steady progression of young athletes participating in municipal training programs. By hosting a national-ranking event directly within the commune, local competitors gained valuable experience testing their skills against visiting athletes without needing to travel long distances.
Regional Podium Results Across Categories
Beyond the host commune’s successes, representatives from other regional clubs claimed top honors across various divisions of the national indoor tournament. Mariana Vincench of Club Iquique secured the first-place finish in Recurvo Women, while clubmate Gustavo Espinoza topped the Compuesto Masculino category.
Additional victories went to Francisca Páez of Club Fénix, who captured first place in Barebow Women, and Lorenzo Cornejo of Club Altos, who triumphed in the Barebow Sub 21 Masculino division.
