Ulsan Hyundai Mobis Expresses Gratitude to Fans Despite Missing Spring Basketball Season: 2025-26 Season Ends with Heartfelt Fan Appreciation Event

Ulsan Hyundai Mobis Phoebus wrapped up the 2025-26 Korean Basketball League season on April 25 with a fan appreciation event at Ulsan Dongcheon Gymnasium, reaffirming their commitment to supporters despite missing the spring playoffs.

The club, which finished the season in eighth place with a 27-27 record, held a dual-part celebration combining community outreach and direct fan engagement. According to team officials, the morning session featured player participation in the “Hyundai Mobis HUG” social contribution program, an initiative partnered with Save the Children since the 2022-23 season.

As part of the local settlement project under this program, players personally crafted upcycled keyrings and packaged them with handwritten messages of encouragement and school supplies for distribution to children affected by abuse in affiliated regions. The initiative channels a portion of home game ticket revenue toward psychological and emotional recovery support for vulnerable youth.

In the afternoon, the team hosted a banquet-style fan festival starting at 1:00 p.m. Local time. The first 500 attendees received commemorative pocket shopping bags, and the event opened with a green umbrella presentation and a seasonal donation ceremony for Save the Children.

Players served snacks directly to fans at a station dubbed “Febus Dining” while facilitating various recreational activities. A special performance by rookie trio Kim Gon-ha, Park Jong-hwan, and Choi Gang-min also featured in the program.

The Phoebus concluded their campaign after a final regular-season game on April 8, where they faced LG in what marked the end of a six-month season. Despite not advancing to the postseason, the club highlighted growth in fan engagement, citing a 6.46% increase in cumulative attendance to 811,185 spectators compared to the previous season’s 761,971.

Average attendance rose from 2,822 to 3,004 per game, a trend the team said underscores sustained basketball enthusiasm in the region. Individual accolades from the season included foreign player Jamil Warney of Seoul SK winning the scoring title with an average of 23.2 points per game, while Changwon LG’s Maarey dominated the boards with 14.2 rebounds per contest.

Looking ahead, Ulsan Hyundai Mobis Phoebus will begin preparations for the 2026-27 season, with no official dates released yet for preseason activities or roster moves. The club maintains its partnership with Save the Children and plans to expand its HUG initiative in the coming months.
