Jonas Boulefaa has officially signed with Murray State University, completing a historic French trio alongside Roman Domon and Mathis Courbon for the Racers’ men’s basketball program.
The 6-foot-9 forward announced his decision to join Murray State on April 25, 2026, after previously committing to play for ADA Blois in France’s ELITE 2 league. His signing was confirmed by Murray State Athletics through their official channels.
Boulefaa’s arrival marks a significant development for the Racers, who now feature three French players on their roster – an unprecedented concentration of talent from the Hexagone in Murray, Kentucky.
The forward had attracted interest from several NCAA programs during his recruitment process, including Illinois, Louisville, and Fresno State. However, he initially chose to remain in France to develop with ADA Blois, citing the program’s environment and his personal connection to the game as key factors in his decision.
During his time with ADA Blois, Boulefaa worked under coach David Morabito, who helped shape his development in the ELITE 2 league. His experience in France’s second division provided valuable playing time and growth opportunities before his transatlantic move.
Murray State competes in the Missouri Valley Conference (MVC) for the 2025-26 season, having transitioned from the Ohio Valley Conference (OVC) prior to this academic year. The Racers play their home games at the CFSB Center in Murray, Kentucky.
The signing continues a growing trend of French basketball prospects choosing the NCAA route for their development. Boulefaa joins a lineage of international players who have found success in Murray State’s basketball program.
With Boulefaa now officially part of the roster, the Racers will look to integrate the French forward into their system for upcoming competition. His combination of size and skill adds depth to Murray State’s frontcourt options.
The trio of Boulefaa, Domon, and Courbon represents a unique storyline in college basketball, highlighting the increasing globalization of the sport and the specific pipeline developing between French youth programs and American mid-major conferences.
Murray State Athletics will provide updates on Boulefaa’s integration with the team through their official website and social media channels as the program prepares for future seasons.
